CUHK 反思教養通 Parenting APP
A bilingual parenting-support app for CUHK's Department of Educational Psychology, organising 12 guided learning modules, mood reflection, practical knowledge and scenario-based exercises into an accessible mobile journey for everyday family use.
The challenge
Understanding the real problem
The university needed to translate evidence-informed parenting content into a practical mobile experience that parents could use independently. The app had to balance structured learning with emotional reflection, short everyday activities and research-related survey integration.
The approach
Designed around people and operations
i2 worked across UX, Drupal content management and native mobile delivery. The learning journey was organised into repeatable modules combining stories, reflection, knowledge, tips and practice, with a mood calendar and Qualtrics integration supporting the wider programme.
The solution
A system built to keep working
The iOS and Android app gives parents a structured way to reflect on their mood, learn from CUHK content and practise communication through realistic scenarios, while the CMS supports ongoing management of the learning material.
Emotional thermometer
Parents can record their daily mood in a calendar and receive supportive messages linked to the selected state.
Twelve learning modules
A repeatable structure combines parenting stories, reflection, practical knowledge, tips and scenario-based exercises.
Evidence-informed content
Articles from CUHK's Department of Educational Psychology explain parenting concepts and practical relationship-building methods.
Scenario-based practice
Guided situations give parents a safe way to reflect on and practise communication approaches.
Measured outcomes
Useful change, shown clearly
The existing project description records 12 parenting learning modules in the app.
Inside the work
